Charles W. Kocher Student Success Center :

Tutorial Services

Belmont Technical College provides FREE tutorial assistance to students who meet college guidelines. The Charles W. Kocher Student Success Center administers this service, which is intended to provide support to student who experience difficulty with course requirements.

To request tutoring, students must complete a Request for Assistance Form they may obtain from the Charles W. Kocher Student Success Center. Requests for Assistance must be approved by the student's instructor. The Student Success Center tutor coordinator will arrange the tutoring sessions, and the student must adhere to related procedures. Failure to adhere to college policies and procedures could result in denial of further tutorial assistance. Tutoring is not a substitute for regular class attendance.

As a BTC student, you have access to online tutoring services in the areas of Mathematics and Writing, delivered via a dynamic, user-friendly tutoring platform called eTutoring. If you are currently registered for BTC courses, start the login process by following these instructions:

Becoming a Tutor

Qualities of a Good Tutor:

  1. Course Mastery - Tutors must have achieved a 3.0 in the subjects they are tutoring.
  2. Communication Skills - Well developed communication and listening skills are vital to successful tutoring. In addition, tutors must have a willingness to learn new skills.
  3. Reliability - Tutoring requires reliability and a sense of teamwork. We are looking for tutors with energy and a positive approach to problem solving.
